ACT III FADE FROM BLACK:

SEQUENCE 3_01 - "MEDALLION"

3_01_01 EXT. OZ – BADLANDS - DAY

TIN OWL, STRAW BEAR, and TIN GIRL run for their lives through a strange, scary and desolate land. OS behind them, something thuds to the ground.

3_01_02 TIN OWL

    What? Stop? Where's Woot?

3_01_03 TIN OWL, STRAW BEAR and TIN GIRL look back.

3_01_04 GREEN MONKEY lies in an exhausted heap on the ground. TIN OWL flaps noisily back to land on the ground near WOOT's outstretched arms.

3_01_05 TIN OWL looks concerned.

TIN OWL

    You all right, Woot?

3_01_06 STRAW BEAR

    Look... He's... Uh, face down in the... In the mud... Is he dead?

3_01_07 TIN OWL

    Woot, talk to us! Are you all right?

3_01_08 GREEN MONKEY looks up weakly.

GREEN MONKEY

    Yes...  I'm okay...

3_01_09 TIN OWL

    Well, come on... We've... We've got to get away... Away before Yoop finds us...

3_01_10 GREEN MONKEY struggles up to a sitting position. He hugs his knees, sinks his head down onto them.

GREEN MONKEY

    I'm so tired... And I'm hungry.  My mom... My mom would be making me supper right now.

3_01_11 STRAW BEAR perks up.

STRAW BEAR

    Uh... Supper... Oh, boy.  Does that sound good!  I'd like to meet your mom, Woot.  I'm so hungry right now... I'd even eat lima beans!

3_01_12 TIN OWL smacks STRAW BEAR with a wing.

TIN OWL

    Would you be quiet!  Woot?  What's the matter?

3_01_13 TIN OWL, STRAW BEAR, and TIN GIRL all look at GREEN MONKEY, concerned.

3_01_14 GREEN MONKEY

    Sighs. I don't belong here. You⿿re all so brave⿦ And I'm⿦ I'm not really a wanderer... I kind of lied about that. I⿿ve never been away from home so long in my life...

3_01_15 TIN OWL and STRAW BEAR look uncomfortable.

TIN OWL

    Oh... Well, we all... Exaggerate... occasionally.

3_01_16 STRAW BEAR

    I'll say... Tinny here has told some big ones.

3_01_17 TIN OWL'S eyes dart left and right.

TIN OWL (whispering)

    Shhhh... Quiet.  Not now.

3_01_18 GREEN MONKEY (still with his head between his knees)

   I'm afraid.

3_01_19 TIN GIRL kneels beside GREEN MONKEY and puts an arm around his shoulders.

TIN GIRL

    Oh, no, Woot.  You're bravest boy I've ever met.  Your mother would be very proud of you.

3_01_20 TIN OWL

    Yes. Yes. Bravery like yours, my boy. You have to be born with it.

3_01_21 STRAW BEAR

    Ah... Eh... Uh... Yes, brave. I'm the scared one, young Woot... You... You're a rock! Eh... I mean...

3_01_22 TIN OWL (interrupting)

3_01_23 GREEN MONKEY looks at TIN OWL, surprised.

3_01_24 STRAW BEAR (confused)

TIN OWL (whispering)

3_01_25 GREEN MONKEY (hopeful)

3_01_26 TIN OWL

    Well... It's... Uh, the Bravery medallion! Eh, the "Adventurer's Bravery Medallion."

3_01_27 STRAW BEAR

3_01_28 TIN OWL

3_01_29 GREEN MONKEY

3_01_33 TIN GIRL helps GREEN MONKEY to his feet.

TIN GIRL Do you feel better now, Woot?

3_01_34 GREEN MONKEY thinks about it, nods, breaks into a smile.

3_01_35 TIN OWL and STRAW BEAR have already started walking. GREEN MONKEY looks after them fondly.

3_01_36 GREEN MONKEY looks intently at TIN GIRL.

GREEN MONKEY You... You know, I do... I really do!... Even though I know... He made up the medallion.
