Types of shots

The storyboard is the first place where you start working out camera angles. Keep these concepts in mind when creating your storyboard. From here and here:

  • LS: Long shot - entire scene
  • MS: Medium Shot - waist up
  • MCU: Between MS + CU: Bust shot or Pocket shot
  • CU: Close-Up - shoulders up
  • ECU: Extreme-close-up - only part of the face
  • OS: Over-the-shoulder - used in dialogue shots

two-shot or three-shot: Number of people in the scene.
