SEQUENCE 2_12 "TIN GIRL"

2_12_01 TIN OWL, STRAW BEAR, and GREEN MONKEY stand in abject defeat.

TIN GIRL (OS) 211-01 That won’t work.

TIN OWL, STRAW BEAR and GREEN MONKEY are startled by the unfamiliar voice. They look around.

2_12_02 There are many strange STATUES in the CHAMBER. One of them, TIN GIRL, stands motionless in a NICHE in the wall.

2_12_03 TIN OWL, STRAW BEAR, and GREEN MONKEY look at each other in surprise, wondering who said that.

2_12_04 Suddenly, TIN GIRL moves.

TIN GIRL 212 You cannot open the door unless you are wearing the magic apron.

Surprised, TIN OWL, STRAW BEAR, and GREEN MONKEY watch with mouths open.

GREEN MONKEY 213 ... W-who are you?

TIN GIRL 214 I am… N-Nimmie Amee…

2_12_06 TIN OWL, STRAW BEAR, and GREEN MONKEY⿿S eyes go wide, stunned.

STRAW BEAR Uh⿦ Ah-hah⿦ Good⿦ Good one. I-I-I knew this was coming⿦ This is the final part of Mrs. Yoop⿿s curse. She⿿s driving us crazy.

TIN OWL Nimmie? H-h-how could that be⿦ How could that be? (adamant) See here! We happen to know that Nimmie Amee is⿦

TIN GIRL 216 Was⿦ enslaved to a wicked witch. In order to escape, her friend, Ku-Klip the tinsmith, made me as a substitute. I took Nimmie Amee’s place until the witch disappeared, then I was captured by Mrs. Yoop to be her servant. I have been trying to escape ever since.

2_12_11 TIN OWL is awestruck.

TIN OWL (whispering to STRAW BEAR) 217 She is so beautiful⿦

TIN OWL stares, love struck, at TIN GIRL.

GREEN MONKEY 221 So⿦ I-i-if we can get the apron from Mrs. Yoop, we could open the doors and escape!

STRAW BEAR 221-01 Oh… is that all. Well, then… Let⿿s get right to it, (blows a razzberry).

TIN GIRL 222 Perhaps you could⿦ hide in her room at night? And get the apron while she is asleep?

STRAW BEAR 222-01 Ohhhh, sure⿦ Sure, sure, sure, sure⿦ And perhaps we could just wrestle the apron from the giant Mrs. Yoop?!

GREEN MONKEY 223 I’ll try it!

2_12_19 TIN OWL and STRAW BEAR look incredulously at GREEN MONKEY.

2_12_20 GREEN MONKEY recognizes the confusion.

GREEN MONKEY 223 Get the apron, I mean.

2_12_21 TIN GIRL looks hopefully at GREEN MONKEY.

GREEN MONKEY 223-01 All I have to do is⿦ figure out a way to sneak into her bedroom.

STRAW BEAR (in disgust) 223-02 Eewww…..

2_12_24 The chamber door begins to open. Frightened, TIN GIRL stands perfectly still.

2_12_25 MRS. YOOP enters and pauses to pat GREEN MONKEY’S head.

2_12_26 TIN OWL and STRAW BEAR shudder.

2_12_27 MRS. YOOP turns towards her bedroom door.

MRS. YOOP 224 Open!

The door opens into MRS. YOOP’S BEDROOM.

2_12_28 MRS. YOOP turns to face TIN GIRL.

MRS. YOOP 225 Come. Get me ready for bed, servant.

MRS. YOOP yawns hugely.

2_12_29 TIN OWL, STRAW BEAR, and GREEN MONKEY cringe at the sight of the enormous maw.

2_12_30 MRS. YOOP turns to face TIN OWL and STRAW BEAR with a wicked wink.

MRS. YOOP 226 Now, you little adorables⿦ I want you behave yourselves tonight. Tomorrow⿦ (chuckles) we'll play. Heh, heh, heh.

2_12_31 Behind her back, GREEN MONKEY slips through the open BEDROOM door.
